Project 12 - Manual white balance

You will have already discovered that you can use AWB or select one of the icons to adjust the white balance. However, the most accurate method of achieving correct colour is to do a manual white balance. Locate the manual white balance icon. You will need a sheet of white paper and you need to fill the frame with the sheet. Cameras vary in their method but many involve depressing the shutter button in order to ‘set’ the white balance.

This technique provides you with the most accurate colour rendition.

Tip: Once set, the white balance is accurate BUT only for those lighting conditions. If any conditions change a new white balance must be set.
